Entertainment is now easily accessible to almost every individual on the planet who wants to get benefited by it. Comedy too has evolved and is now a proper industry with very accomplished and competitive people working for it. Various forms of comedy have emerged in the recent years, from stand-up comedy to blue humor to cartoons; comedy is now a vast field with many different genres.
With vastness comes great competition too. Even in the comedy industry, over the past few years a flux of very talented comedians have emerged who are gifted and professional, both. Now if you want to join the comedy industry, first ask yourself, am I a good enough to make an everlasting impression? In such a competitive industry if you cannot make a mark, the audience will forget you the very next day. This is mainly because of the huge thrust of entertainment and information that the audience are provided with. It’s impossible for them to contain all of that so if you do not make a place in their hearts and minds in the first place, your career has finished even before it started.
Before you start your comedy career, be it stand-up comedy or any other genre, prepare and plan your routine very carefully. Come up with tactics that will differentiate you from other comedians. While performing stand-up comedy, target topics that are controversial and trending. Adopt a style that is different from other comedians yet intriguing for the audience. You can sport different get-ups and use various crazy props in your performance to attract and entertain your audience. Your body language can also play a huge part in making you a distinguished comedian amongst the rest.
So for all the aspiring stand-up comedians, there is a big havoc and flux of talents in the comedy industry and unless you don’t come up with something unique, something that separates you from the rest, your career is at stake.
